Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design in Turin launches scholarship competition

May 15, 2023 by Geordie Torr

The Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) in Turin, Italy, in collaboration with Iveco Group, has launched a competition to award six scholarships for its Bachelors course in transportation design, which will begin in October 2023. The six scholarships are offered only to international students; two will cover half of the course-attendance fee and four will covering a quarter of the attendance fee (the €1,200 enrolment fee will still have to be paid).

The competition, ‘Dakar goes Electric…’, invites participants to imagine an IVECO vehicle with electric or hydrogen propulsion designed to participate in the next Dakar Rally. They can choose from three possible scenarios: a race vehicle of any size with four wheels capable of carrying three people (two drivers and one technician), spare parts and two spare wheels; a medium/heavy assistance and charging support vehicle that can act as a mobile workshop for emergency intervention, as well as a charging service; or a first aid and rescue vehicle based on the basic model Iveco Daily 4×4 Electric.

The competition judges will take into consideration originality, the variety of the design themes, the ability to visualise design solutions and the overall quality of the work submitted. The submission deadline is 31 May 2023; winners will be announced a week later. Further information, competition guidelines and the entry form can be found here.
