Libby Meyrick, CEO of the Institution of Engineering Designers, has appeared as a special guest on the Manufacturing & Engineering Week (M&EWeek) podcast.
Libby, who is also a member of the M&E Week advisory council, joined Ed Tranter, the content director of M&E Week, for a high-level discussion regarding the opportunities for design engineers in the UK. The pair explored the impact that designers and engineering have on the environment and touched on a number key topics, including sustainability, British standards, skills, diversity and inclusion, and ending the disposability of designed products. Libby also looked back at some of the exciting design developments that have taken place over recent years, such as needleless injections and driverless cars.
