CAD ROOMS, a cloud product data management (PDM) and engineering collaboration platform for hardware and engineering teams, has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification. The certification, awarded by TNV System Certification and accredited by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), covers the full scope of the CAD ROOMS platform: cloud-based CAD collaboration, data management and engineering workflows.
ISO 27001:2022 is the most current version of the standard, updated from the 2013 edition. The scope of the certification is specific to the product itself, not a generic corporate IT audit, meaning that customers have independent assurance that the platform has been assessed against internationally recognised information security requirements.
‘Security is consistently the first question we get from engineering teams evaluating cloud PDM. ISO 27001:2022 gives them an independent answer, one that doesn’t ask them to take our word for it,’ said Christina Rebel, CAD ROOMS’ CEO. ‘The certification covers exactly what our customers use: the collaboration environment, the data management, the workflows.’
Certification was completed in about five weeks, enabled by CAD ROOMS’ all-virtual infrastructure and use of automated compliance tooling. The company operates without a physical office and its architecture was built to support rapid, rigorous audits of this kind.
According to the company, the announcement supports its positioning for enterprise- and regulated-sector customers, including teams in aerospace, space, automotive and clean energy. CAD ROOMS ApS is incorporated in Denmark, with EU-hosted infrastructure available, a combination that is increasingly relevant for European engineering organisations with data residency requirements.
The certification can be verified at tnvgroup.org and iafcertsearch.org.
