Agency helps Engineering Council bring new strategy to life through brand refresh

May 27, 2026 by Geordie Torr

Leamington-based brand agency rbl has created a new brand strategy and identity for the Engineering Council, designed to bring the organisation’s refreshed strategy to life and strengthen engagement with engineers, employers and professional bodies across the UK.

The Engineering Council is the regulator for the engineering profession in the UK, with a key role in bringing the profession together across more than 40 separate professional engineering institutions. The new brand marks a significant step forward as the Engineering Council evolves its role.

Bringing the organisation’s strategic ambitions to life, the brand focuses on highlighting the organisation’s central role to build confidence and trust in the profession at a time when engineering skills and professionalism are under increasing national focus.

Working closely with the Engineering Council team, rbl led the development of the brand from strategy through to creative design. This included workshops and interviews with the Engineering Council team, as well as wider engagement with members and professional bodies.

‘This project was about much more than a new look,’ said Adam Concar (pictured above, at left), executive creative director at rbl. ‘It was about helping the Engineering Council express its strategy clearly and consistently, so that its value is immediately understood by the many audiences it serves. We’re proud to have supported such an important body from right here in the region.’

‘It’s a great example of how regional expertise can have national impact,’ said Andrew Milton (pictured above, at right), partner and co-owner at rbl. ‘Engineering is fundamental to the UK’s future, and it’s rewarding to contribute in a way that inspires the profession to move forward.’
