According to the company, the software features a familiar design process and user interface, enabling users to undertake reverse engineering projects easily.

PointShape Design utilises the Convergence Geometric Modeler, the world’s first powerful modelling kernel used by CATIA, a multi-platform CAD software suite. In order to meet users’ visualisation needs, DREAMTNS has also upgraded its software to incorporate the best-in-class graphics engine HOOPS Visualize.

PointShape Design can be used to create parametric CAD models of practical real-world products through scan data acquired using a variety of different measuring equipment, including 3D scanners, coordinate measuring machines and vision systems.

The company said that PointShape Design provides comprehensive and powerful CAD design tools that can convey ideas from concept to manufacturing and production for engineers and operators, enabling faster, more accurate and more reliable reverse engineering than is currently possible using other methods.

‘Through this solution, we will solve various reverse engineering and design challenges across various industries, including automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, research and development, heritage preservation and industrial machinery and engineering services,’ the company said.

The team behind PointShape plans to continuously add new features and tools to PointShape Design in order to enhance users’ productivity. It can customise the software based on the specific requirements and needs of customers. PointShape also has inspection and mesh-processing modules in its portfolio.
