The Women’s Engineering Society is holding a free online student careers event. The virtual careers fair will offer students a chance to connect with leading UK employers and discover exciting opportunities in the world of engineering.
The event will kick off with a day of live talks and Q&A sessions in which students will hear directly from employers and learn more about their company culture and available roles.
A number of partner universities will be hosting exclusive sponsored lunches with employers, offering a chance to meet company representatives face-to-face in a relaxed environment, learn about potential career paths and watch the online event together in person.
Students will be able to find out what companies are really looking for during a series of ‘spotlight’ sessions – 15-minute talks that will provide an inside look at a company’s culture, available roles and recruitment advice.
There will also be an ‘interactive expo’ consisting of a virtual exhibition hall in which students can explore company booths, chat live with recruiters and gather information.
And there will be opportunities to find internships, graduate jobs and other career opportunities in the exclusive event pack, with information on what’s available and how to apply. Featured companies will highlight their top openings, along with interview tips and advice that will support students’ job hunts, no matter what stage their career is at.
Students don’t need to worry if they don’t manage to see everything in one day. The exhibition will remain open for six months, so they will have plenty of time to revisit company pages and explore all of the information at their own pace.
According to the society, the event is a great way for students to jump-start their career and make valuable connections.
The initial event will take place on 4 November between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
